Interactive Sound Installation
5 October 2025, 14:00–16:00
PROGR Performance Space 369, Bern

On 5 October, Raum 369 at PROGR was transformed into an open space of sound experimentation under the title Riesen-Lotter-Instrument. The installation featured musical objects and remodelled instruments designed and built by Barbara Balba Weber, Mehdi Hesamizadeh, and Res Margot, alongside a long string tuned in E that stretched across the room.

The program opened with a presentation by Mehdi on the history of sound objects and a vocal and musical performance by Res and Ruth Margot, followed by an improvisation session with the Lotterorchester (project of Barbara Balba Weber), an intergenerational ensemble based in Bern that brings together participants using instruments made from everyday materials and reworked objects to  tell stories and reinterpret folk songs.

After the performance, visitors were invited to engage directly with the instruments, explore their sonic possibilities, and participate in collective improvisation.
