Scented Rooms

For Scented Rooms, an artistic research exposition by Shauheen Daneshfar, I composed a four channel electroacoustic work conceived for an exhibition context. The project brings together poetry, politics, censored archives, photography, cinema and dance, with a focus on Iran’s oldest theater, which was burned during the 1979 Islamic Revolution and has remained closed and decaying over time.

The composition was developed as a four channel sound environment, expanding sonic materials and influences from my work for Scented Rooms through electronic processes and spatial distribution. Through textures, movement, and multi channel sound, the work shapes an acoustic field engaging with memory, disappearance, and fragile traces embedded within cultural and public spaces.

The composition creates a space of resonance around absence, decay, and historical rupture, where listening becomes part of the experience of memory itself. Situated between electroacoustic composition and installation, the work contributes to the exposition’s engagement with collective memory and silenced histories.
