Sound art

My interument-making practice is a combination of experimenting with alternative tuning systems, repurposing discarded instruments and exploring non-standard forms. When I design an instrument, I set out to craft a unique voice through material. The process often involves working with salvaged parts, recycled elements, or shaping raw materials to give new life to both the object and the sound it produces.

I see instrument design as an ongoing conversation between material, sound and philosophy. The tuning and the form of an instrument are deeply entwined with human experience, language, the body, communication, and the natural environment.

For me, the act of building an instrument is an extension of composition. I study tuning systems and explore new forms, always attentive to both the physical structure and the sonic qualities I hope to attain. Yet ultimately, it is an open-ended, experimental journey: when an instrument sounds differently than I anticipated, these unexpected turns often lead to new discoveries. Each instrument I create has its own reason for being – whether it follows established traditions or finds its way to them by accident.
